biography
About Pablo Gershanik
Actor, director, and theatre educator.
Trained at the Núcleo de Estudios Teatrales in Mexico and specialized in physical theatre at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, Pablo has brought the Laboratory experience to museums, theatre companies, art centres, and festivals in France, Argentina, Mexico, the United States, Switzerland, Belgium, England, and Canada.
In addition, in his work as an actor-clown, he played the leading role in the show Nomade with Cirque Éloize in Canada; he performed in Voyageurs Immobiles by Compagnie Philippe Genty in France, as well as in Maldita canalla la soledad and 52 with Compagnia Finzi Pasca in Switzerland.
As a director
He directed more than 15 productions in Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, and France, including Triste golondrina macho, American Mouse, Canterville, gabinete de curiosidades, and Hemos arado en el mar. He also co-directed Proyecto Fibonacci, in collaboration with Samuel Tétreault of the Canadian company Les Sept Doigts de la Main.
Teaching
At the same time, he taught at various academic institutions in Argentina (Universidad Nacional de las Artes UNA, Universidad Argentina de la Empresa UADE, Universidad Nacional de San Martín UNSAM); in France (University of Paris, University of Nice, University of Toulon, Toulouse-Jean Jaurès University); in England (University of Exeter); in Mexico (National Autonomous University of Mexico UNAM, 17 Institute of Critical Studies); and in Canada, at Concordia University.
Recognition
His project Ochenta balas sobre el ala, in collaboration with Julián Teubal, received an award and support from the Centquatre and the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris through the French Institutes of France and Argentina.
